Hi all

Long time lurker finally making their first post. Looking for some friendly advice.

I'm currently insured on my car and also picking up a new vehicle on Saturday. Will be in my name and dealer is providing 7 days driveaway insurance on the new car.

The problem is that my partner will be sharing this new vehicle with me and is part-exing her runabout to go towards the new car. She needs use of a car on Monday/Tuesday and my current insurer won't let me add her to my current policy for the existing car as she's under 25.

Dealership will only give me the driveaway insurance as I'm buying the car and I'm guessing if we swap her insurance over on Saturday to the new car then the 7 day insurance will be invalid anyway as you can't have two policies on one car can you?

All the while I still have my car insured and I've had no luck getting my current insurer to mirror my no claims and the multicar quotes are a joke.

Does anyone have any idea what the most sensible, easy and affordable way would be to go about acheiving the following scenario. On Saturday, I am insured on my current vehicle still and am also insured on the new car with the other half as a named driver.

Sorry for the long and boring post!
