Hello everybody,
i'm the owner of a Vixen with V8 conversion. The car has the last registration "AWB 69G" up to 1985 before it comes to germany. The car is red and had a complete red interieur with small red bucket seats. Engine was a 3.5 Rover V8 with the standard twin SU HS6 carbs from SD1 or P6 Rover and3-speed auto. Some very special options: The door handles from MGB boot instead of the Cortina door handles and the black coloured back of the car in the area around the licence plates.
Last owner was Andre Gordon Cass, last known previous owner was Bruce Spencer Dove.

Does anybody now something about the histoy of the car? Who did the V8-conversion? The car has had an accident to the front left (passenger side) with some welding on the chassis done to repair.

Would be very nice to get some historic information.

Cheers
Axel

Hello, Sorry I don't have specific information, but David Gerald will be a ble to let you know the factory spec of your car, the dealership where it was first sold and probably the first owner because they hold all the factory records for the cars. You just need to give them the chassis no.

Anyone know anything about a company called "Northern Sports Cars"?

you best ask your question in the german TVR forum:

this link leads to the pre-M category...you can register and click the "neues Thema" button to post your question (in english).

in the german forum it would be much better to post in german... and it would be much easier for me :-)
But the car is in Germany now and i know the total german history of the car very well. There is only one previous owner (a friend of mine) who purchased the car in the mid-80s from David Gerald / Loeffelsender.

I like to know some more of the history between 1969 and mid-80s and the V8-conversion

Another approach is to contact the TVRCC archivist and ask if he has any record of the car. The UK owners may well have been members

Northern Sports cars were a Lotus and TVR dealer in Scotton North Yorkshire. They would have been dealers when Vixens etc were being sold.

Yes, these were the guys who originally sold my car in 1968 to a guy who, believe it or not, bred poodles.

Hi,
I owned TVR Vixen AWB 69G from around 1972 to 1974 and lived in Derbyshire. It was red had a 1.6 Ford crossflow engine, black interior standard door handles and no sunroof. I do not think any modification had been carried out apart from the twin stainless steel tailpipes I fitted, which appear to be still in place according to your photograph. I purchased the car from a private owner who lived near Sheffield and sold to John Tyson who lived near Northampton. The only damage was a small crack to the front of the bonnet. I believe the car was never accident damaged before and certainly was not during my ownership and so the frontal damage you refer to must have occurred after. I will try and look out further information for you.
