Just stumbled upon one of these, believe it to be 4 litre. Was such a beast ever sold from new, there are no other obvious markings, so I am assuming it is has been changed at a later date ?

Just intrigued.

Lichfield conversions were effectively that.
I think I've seen 4 and 5 litre ones advertised.
General dealer in Bristol had one for ages and kept his price at 10K.

There were plenty of aftermarket go faster converions when new or nearly new - overfinch, janspeed turbo, lichfield to name but a few.

I found some info on the 5 litre ones, but nothing re the 4 litre ones, so wasn't sure if this one has just had an engine swap done privately.

The 4L Tiv engines weren't really any different from the 3.9 Rangie engine. In fact, I've heard say that there is no difference. If there is then it'll be the cam which would probably make it quite unhelpful in a Rangie.

TVR Power supplied some 5L Serpentine engines for the Litchfields and some other projects have been done in the past.
