Wife's been stationary on slip road at jnct 10 for nearly an hour? Nothing on any traffic reports.

According to the Highways Agency website this is the problem:-

"On the M4 eastbound between junctions J10 and J8, there are currently delays of 20 mins caused by congestion due to an earlier accident. Normal traffic conditions expected from 8:00 pm"

Assume you are out now but it was a car fire. I was going in opposite direction and it was totally ablaze. A few cars risked driving past but as I approached from a few hundred metres away the brigade had just closed the road. This was just after 6 pm. Not just a smoulder under a bonnet bu the whole engine and cabin was up like some big bonfire.

Must have just missed that - had no problems on the 329 from Binfield to J10 then onto J12 at all. That was at about 18:15.

I was on my bike last night so filtered up the queue to the fire engine at the front. The car was well alight when I arrived, and we were waiting about 15 minutes before the police opened one lane again. Then all the bikes that had got to the front had a clear run down the A329M to Reading .
