hi all,
i'm thinking of buying a wedge 350i which is in the same town as me.
it needs work and parts, so i'm hoping you lot might help me out with some 2nd hand prices???
car needs a folding rear roof,exhaust, 2 x seats,front spoiler??
are parts hard to find or is it just a matter of knowing who to ask or where to look?
thanks dave

Roof and exhaust, probably the two most specific and most expensive parts on a Wedge!
I know where there was a very tidy roof cloth for sale but that was a couple of years back, I don't know if the seller still has it (posts as dwgriffith on PH).
Exhaust is a bit trickier; the manifolds are fabricated (usually from mild steel, so they rot) and need to fit the available space. The remainder of the system could probably be cobbled together by a competent quick-fit place, might be worth finding out which bits are rotten.

This one in (I guess) Weston-Super-Mare:

3.9 in a 350i, hmmm, bet the insurance companies would love that one. Could be a plodding Landrover 3.9L. Northern Irish plate, letters don't match the seller's initials, not that much of a cherished plate then. I'd want to know its original reg. so I could check for insurance payouts.
Here's a much better bet (and a genuine 390 to boot) in Manchester:

Very interested in that one back in the summer. Told me he'd sold it??? Obviously not then. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TVR-390SE-V8-/2306950913...

Also told me his mates were bidding it up!!
Well worth a look though despite this. He wanted £3750 back then.

Funnily enough, there's another one on Ebay that I suspect is the one to which Hogg originally referred, that's been supposedly sold twice before in recent weeks, can't help the suspicion that something's afoot in the wind there too (it's been a private listing every time so you can't see the bidders).

The 390 seller can 'want' all he likes but if nobody's buying, he ain't selling

Would it be this one by any chance? http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/382...
Half-heartedly watched it the last time round and saw it go for £500.
It really doesn't have a lot going for it.
As already mentioned, hood and exhaust are expensive. I reckon you could be looking at £800 plus just for those.
It's also a non-runner I believe?
I was looking at it as a potential parts car for my wedge. Thing is it doesn't really have much I need intact on it!
Would be nice to see it back on the road, but unfortunately considering how cheap wedges are atm, I'm not sure this one's financially viable?

just had roof and targa panel done £275 plus £180 fitting (including repair and retrim to back hold down the roofy bit!!)
would show pictures but was only fitted today and didn't get back till it was dark!
seats can be refurbed for a quite reasonable money, if they are not ripped you can have them re-colonised for around £200 the pair, if you need side bolsters replaced expect to add around £80. just had my dash, gearstick & handbrake gaiter and door cards changed from grey to black, also car had been parked outside for 10 years and although they were complete, they were very horrible looking. Mark http://www.benchmarkleather.co.uk/ has done a few jobs for me and i would highly recommend him (steve does north england).
i'm fitting mazda rx8 seats, in theory should fit but some fabrication is required, drivers side might even be electric!!!!!
