Anyone know a good source for what to do with older cars? My 91 MX5 I guess will be OK but my Mrs's 79 850cc mini I'm pretty sure won't be!

So the new fuel won't be good for cars pre '93, and cars with direct injection, so erm, that will be most things post '07 then wobble

Good job EU, good job.

The man from Wikipedia says regarding this abomination:

"lowered fuel mileage, metal corrosion, deterioration of plastic and rubber fuel system components, clogged fuel systems, fuel injectors, and carburetors, delamination of composite fuel tanks, varnish buildup on engine parts, damaged or destroyed internal engine components, water absorption, fuel phase separation, and shortened fuel storage life"

I hear this stuff goes "off" very quickly.

Not good for cars that don't get out that much.

Sounds fine, I mean obviously with less expensive oil in it it'll be cheaper, partly helped by the reduced duty to encourage the use of economically sound fuels, right?

Right?

Surely?

No?

Oh, what a suprise.

IMO there is a lot of fuss about this with very little proof that it'll cause problems... Europe has been running on 5% bio for ages and the transport systemhasn't descended into chaos.

Here in Germany, they've replaced all the 95 with E10. Haven't heard of any disasters, but I'll be sticking to the 98+ stuff thanks.
