+1 Nitrons feels much better on 2 clicks.
I found any harder & the back was a bit skittish over rough(broken Tarmac) roads , quite scary at speed.
Wow I find it really interesting how different people like their car set up, my Nitrons 4 clicks from hard on the front and 6 from hard on the back, car is absolutely planted. When I had them set on the soft side of half way the car squirmed all over the place.I found any harder & the back was a bit skittish over rough(broken Tarmac) roads , quite scary at speed.

mine went that way after I had a little scare at Castle CoombeI found any harder & the back was a bit skittish over rough(broken Tarmac) roads , quite scary at speed.

I'd clicked them harder over lunchtime instead of softer to try to sort out the bumps at follys. They were quite hard anyway. The 4 tracks heading over the grass into the cut corn field are mine. The bumps totally unsettled the car and I left the track sideways at around 130. Note: put foot on clutch to correct the back end stepping out, don't take foot off the throttle!
Only thing damaged was my pride although I took a fair bit of mud to the pits with me
I have mine set on 10 clicks all round at the moment and find the car a real hand full on country roads especially as speed builds up, I have had a full geom set up carried out but it still seems difficult on anything other than a perfect road surface.
Does this sound like i need a harder set up?

I'd look at spring rates. I was never happy with mine until I seriously uprated the springs - 500 lbs on the front and 450 lbs on the back makes the car so much better. You no longer feel the need to wind the damping up to maintain body control and the ride actually improves as the car is damped properly and sits better on the road.
Without any doubt, the best 100 quid I've spent on the car.

10 clicks from hard on Nitrons should be OK but I find at what I have the car is absolutely planted, I was having problems of the car floating with a softer setting and on full throttle in third exiting Clearways at Brands it was starting to skip sideways so stiffened it up and now all is sorted. The set up required will depend on driving style to a certain extent though.

Jim, do you have a link to the springs you bought? I've just tried unsuccessfully to navigate the Eibach site.Without any doubt, the best 100 quid I've spent on the car.
Sorry to hear you've sold your car btw

These would do:

They need to be 2.25" ID, 500 lb front and 450 lb rear. For my Gaz Gold (Pro's?) I needed (9" free length all round.

I would be very careful specing your own springs....
Certainly not the same length all round on any of my cerbs....
I want to experiment but will be careful.Certainly not the same length all round on any of my cerbs....
Tvr originally specified stiffer rear springs and I remember a post from you saying you used to run stiffer at the rear in the past?
At the moment I'm running 400 front and 325 rear. I have ended up stiffening up the ride with the dampers as this is way too soft.
