Want to see how well a Tuscan accelerates compared to a £150,000 RUF Turbo? In car video taken at Vmax V. Beware a bit of exuberant language at the end of the clip. ![]()

WMV format, 9MB. Suggest you right click and "save as" if you aren't on broadband.
Have to say I beat everything off the line up to 100 at the last VMAX...went up against this RUF also and its still mind lowing how quick it is when the turbos kick in....
Considering the Tuscan has no gadgets...I think it puts up a good show, take them out of the Porsche and don't think there would be much difference in performance...IMHO.
Brunters is bumpy (its made for planes not cars) but, I found, if you keep your wheels in between the black tar lines then its less so.
Alan.
Excellent vid. Thanks.
The main thing is that you were forced onto totally the wrong line on the bottom bend at Brunters and could carry no speed whatsoever.
The 911 had a massive advantage and exited carrying so much more speed that it was always going to march away like that.
Quite frankly a Peugeot 406D on the line the 911 had would have exited ahead of you.
Swap lanes and he wouldn't have taken you until well down the main drag.
Very impressive.

Why did you ease up on the corners???
I had just seen a T350 do a 720 on the bend, so just coasted it. I was still doing 70mph on exit.
I heard about that from the horses mouth so to speak... apparently both driver and passenger were laughing too much to bother correcting the spin
IS THERE ANY WAY SOMEONE COULD DOWNLOAD THIS AND EMAIL IT TO ME AS AN 'MPEG' PLEASE! My iMac doesn't like wmv's

Oi! That's not fair.
It's not all Miami and South of France, you know. I have to do Munich again next week
No offence to any Germans from Munich - honest!

Hi,
If you are talking about that bottom bend then I noticed that the T350 was turning in far too early.
With that corner and a car with grunt you need to run it in very late (to the point where the tarmac changes colour) and be tucked right over to the left handside.
A sharp turn in and then squeeze the throttle and slide out gentley without moving the wheel (apart from a touch of lock when needed
).
You'll exit roughly in the middle of the runway and carrying a hell of a lot of speed.
It's a fantastic power corner for TVRs and very rewarding to slingshot out when you get it right
I learnt it in a Diesel where on a lap you did not touch the brakes until the turn in at the end of the runway and then flat all the way round. Actually more fun than in the Griff.
