Ignition Upgrade

Hi Guys - Have a pre serp 500 which was rebuilt in 2001 with a few mods. It runs very well, is quick and very drivable but have had to retard the ignition because of pinking at the top end and want to be safe.

Have looked at a few after market upgrades and think that Megasquirt is for me but am getting a bit scared regarding the trigger wheel, crankshaft balance and the need for a double pully on the front of the motor.

My main concern is that by adding the trigger wheel I may cause a crank issue, especially as the 500 crank has a ?

Do you think it would be possible to run a trigger wheel off the dizzy drive, or would this lose some of the advantage due to the gear drive.

Any experiences or info with the pre serp motor much appreciated.

Before I fitted the new engine I took the pulley off and sent it to v8 developments who had the trigger wheel fitted and correctly balanced , this is the way to go
