Hi,

I’m heading up to Scotland in March, a bit far for me to drive, so I’ll be flying up. We’re flying into Inverness and staying in Beauly. We have a lift from the airport to the lodge and back, and he can provide us with the odd lift, but we’re thinking of maybe getting a hire car.

Any recommendation of companies to use up there? Or….are there any specialist/sports car hire companies locally? We’re going up in March, what will be the snow situation around then? Would it have mostly cleared by then?

Very much looking forward to coming up!

Thanks,

Dan

You should be ok for March and snow, although you have said you are staying in a lodge, is it off a beaten track??

Focus Vehicle Rental in Inverness used to do Boxters but not sure if they have any now. For some reason the website will not load so contact details here.. http://www.yell.com/b/FOCUS+VEHICLE+RENTAL-Self+Dr...

Depending on what you want this is another place http://www.highlandclassiccars.co.uk/page.php/19/P...

Hope this helps

Maybe something a little more exciting?

Best bring thermals in March if hiring that though!

Many thanks, both of you. Absolutely superb suggestions and just what I was hoping for. I'd be interested in a Boxster as it will be similar (nearly as quick!!) as my Z4M. I'd very much like a Caterham though!! Top suggestion. I'm brave, near freezing temperatures, no roof or heating doesn't scare me! smile

It may well be off the beaten track, yeah. I'll check with the owner on that

Hi
I've been in Drumnadrochit all week on holiday, just over the hill from Beualy. Some really fantastic roads around here if you can get the right car.
As said before most of the holiday houses I've seen including ours has a really bad road into them. I wouldn't get my car in, glad we brought the wife's Disco.
Enjoy you break and enjoy the roads!!

Focus are pretty good and have a good range of motors and will even meet you at the Airport. It will most likely be cold up here in March so thermals may well be required in any car you hire.
