Just how stupid does this make the FA look?

Swear down the camera, bad lad, miss three games.

Kick your opponent entirely deliberately, we'll appeal a three game ban as unfair.

Not to mention it gives Rooney the idea that it's an entirely acceptable thing to do whenever things aren't quite going his way.

Will this be the same as our ruling, if the appeal fails he gets an extra one match ban.

It does seem silly they're appealing.

They do put some incredible spin on it do the FA.

And why settle for the blatantly obvious when some longer words will do.

"Wayne will head back to Manchester as a matter of priority."

Translated as: Wayne will now go home.

Pleased that Rooney will now be available for a group game.

Let's be honest lads, his offence if you can call it that, was hardly dangerous just ill-thought out and a spur of the moment thing. Borne out of frustration at the performance at the time. It was stupid, but hardly warranted a 3 match ban. That would have been a talking too or yellow card at grass roots level...hardly 3 match ban material. Just saying...

Did swearing down the camera?

The problem is the FA have made themselves look inconsistent and totally out of touch - how can they uphold a 3 match ban for violent conduct in the future?

Being cynical, if it had been a junior member of the England squad, perhaps someone with a few less sponsorship deals and not plastered over every billboard as a poster boy for the FA and for the tournament, do you think they would have had the ban reduced?

3 matches for swearing, no, I don't think that's fair...the professional game is a game for grown ups. The FA are nothing if not inconsistent. To be honest they're a bit of a joke organisation. I think we all know that.

Thanks for sharing the link, it's actually the first time I've seen it! Made my mind up to... We can't afford to take him in case the petulant prick does it again.

Let's take someone young and hungry instead.
