My neighbour has a split in their guttering which is causing water to splash down hard on the concrete floor - this is exremley annoying as I can hear it from my bedroom all night.

Before I go around and ask them to try to reduce the noise does anyone have any ideas on what I can ask them to put there that will absorb most of the noise? I was just going to suggest an old tea towel or something - but perhaps sponge/foam would be better?

Tie a piece of string to the gutter right to the ground!
