You can't beat Susan George in her prime, something else for the 70's thread!

Agreed.

Apologies, my earlier post was referring to the remake.

A good cult film. I've watched it several times.

STRAW DOGS 2011 (not 1971 or whatever - I knew what he meant, couldn't resist.)

Have you seen the remake then OP?

Not yet.

My wife and I are going to local Odeon on Sunday afternoon and we are looking for 'pointers' to film recommendation(s).

Saw a photo of Susan George from somewhere recently and she still looks great.

As do the likes of Sally & Judy Geeson.

Bought a dvd copy of the film..Has its moments still considering it is decades old .

Depends if you like the prospect of watching a film with a notorious rape scene.

Actually after thinking about it it is a great film but die to the fact youd be admitting you like watching a girl getting it without permission kind of taints it.
Willing ladies only no matter how many bottles you've had makes no excuse for raping so don't do it. You could end up in jail then your fked by the queens who will analog rape you every day till your bleeding and make you take the money shot in your mouth yuck

Just because you like Straw Dogs doesn't mean you like rape. I like lots of films, I don't like killing people, taking over the world, falling in love over a cuppa or swindling people (I may have lied about the world thing...)

This seems like a Wicker Man thing to me...a brilliant 70s horror/thriller classic which cannot be bettered...what is the point? Remake the bad ones, not the classics...unless it is rather good.biggrin

Does this mean you should avoid films with rape or only films with notorious rape?

I like it, the O/H found it rather offensive.

It's not as good as Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia

I do like BMTHOAG, but of all of SP's films I have watched, it would be ranked lastbiggrin...the others are all top notch for me.

A useful and understated reminder, there. Take heed, kids.

As the man says: don't do it. I don't care if you've watched a film - it's not on.

Mkay?

Agreed. I thought the remake of the Wicker Man was dreadful.

Perhaps it's a matter of which version of a film you see first - the remake or the original...

Don't watch the accused, either, as that too has a rape scene. Of course you could just extrapolate this further on. Have you ever watched a film with a murder in it? My god, that clearly means you like murder, and so on.

It's a film.

I've visions of you, TV Quick one hand, wristwatch in the other, shouting that through some poor telly watcher's letterbox in the manner of Jay from the Inbetweeners doing 'bus wkers!'.
