By what Devilment does a 4 day weekend come your way? That's a city break in local parlance...

Its good stuff - made by the guy who owned Tyrell's crisps before he sold out to KP (or Walkers?).

Make 20 mil on crisps then retire to your country pile distilling vodka and smoking around in classic cars? Alright for some i guess... hehe

It's awesome isn't it. That and the fact you know which field your potatoes in your bottle came from.

The Liquers are nice too.

I was making a lovely English Garden cocktail throughout the Summer - Chase Vodka, Chase Elderflower Liquer and Pressed Apple Juice with ice.

I've just ordered a bottle of vodka for a present (hopefully I'll get a try!) and a bottle of gin for me.

Reviews of this stuff are stonking, will report back once the hangover has subsided.

Our local Sainsburys stock it. I've got a bottle of their apple vodka which is ok, but the regular stuff is very good indeed.

Edit: Their marmalade is one of the nicest flavoured vodkas i've ever had the pleasure of drinking.

It was on offer in sainsburys last week, think it was £20, wish I'd have got a bottle now!

100% correct sir.

From The Drink Shop's website:

"Chase Distillery Marmalade Vodka is made by marinating fine English marmalade preserve with Chase Potato Vodka and infusing it with fresh Seville orange peel in a bespoke Alembic copper pot still.

Declared to be delicious by connoisseurs of fine spirits, Chase Marmalade Vodka is clear with a slight golden hue. It exudes zesty oranges aromas and has a naturally rich bitter-sweet flavour and a warm velvety mouth feel. It makes for a luxurious Breakfast Martini or is refreshing simply sipped neat over ice"

Breakfast Martini:
Invented in 2000 at the Library Bar at the Lanesborough Hotel in London. A similar drink, the Marmalade Cocktail, was invented in the 1920s by Harry Craddock.

2 Chase Marmalade vodka (or 2 vodka with a teaspoon of breakfast marmalade)
0.5 dry vermouth
0.5 Jara lemon (or 0.5 lemon and 0.5 grapefruit)
Few dashes of orange bitters

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass half filled with ice. Stir fairly gently until well chilled and pour into Martini glass. Add garnish of lemon peel or cape gooseberry.

The Breakfast Vesper:
Whitley Neill - 45ml
Chase Marmalade Vodka - 15ml
Campari - 5ml

Stir all ingredients in a large mixing vessel, ensuring the drink is ice cold, strain in to a chilled Martini glass and garnish with a thin slice of pink grapefruit zest

I wish I'd gone to Sainsburys!

RESSE - Nice work researching the cocktails. Glad to see your getting the hang of things. Chase Bloody Mary's are good too thumbup

ETA Another of my favourite Vodka cocktails:

3cl vodka (I've used Zubrowka in the past)
2cl curacao
1cl lemon juice
Over crushed ice topped with sparkling wine

Vodka cocktails = cool

I'm (finally) getting to grips with Pistonheads "form" and very much enjoying myself.

I was on their gin last night (48%) and only got as far as a G&T and two dry Martinis.

Absolutely delicious, murderously strong, complex but not at all violent on the way down. A mighty fine tipple.

I bought a bottle in the week and I'm not 'feeling it' to be honest. I think it has a sweetish taste like cheap white rum.

A 'no' from me.
