I have just bought a 2007 M5 that has came with an AC Schnitzer exhaust system. Now I like my cars standard so will be fitting the original. I know they are listed on the m style website for £2800! A few people have told me they are rare it has at the AC markings on the silencers etc and the sport tips. anyone know what it would be worth as I am going to remove and sell it heres a pic:

any help greatly appreciated! cheers Dan

what does it sound like? I have AC schnitzer system on my M3 and I love its sound and my M5 is a little restrained in the sound department for me smile

Given that the E60 M5 is now pricing itself into the 'modders' market i can see the system you have selling very easily.

Thoe eisenmann race systems make a far better noise and look a lot more standard. You know you want to wink

Hi Eddie

Do you know if the exhaust on the E60 is interchangeable with the E61?

I'm affraid it won't fit the E61. The pipework under the rear axle is totally different due to them having different beams, hence there are very few exhaust options for the E61 M5, not enough demand given the number of cars.

There are no PMs, just email - so if your phone picks up email from the one in My Profile you'll get the message from the member.

Yeah, I'm finding the H&S boxes to be very pleasant actually. Not OTT at all but has enough ooomph to make the point. Its not dissimilar to a Ferrari V12 or old school F1 car, just quieter.

They look horrendous. Put me off buying An e60 m5 because they had those terrible looking pipes where the quads should be. Worth? Really depends where you are selling.

here is a link to the only uk place selling it and they can get hold of them still but take 2 weeks to come in and they are now just under £3000 with VAT:

Had quite a few people PM me about the exhaust what I am looking to do in theory is meet up and do a swap at a garage etc..

are the stock silencers very quiet then?

The stock system sounds very nice when accelerating hard, but when at idle and when pottering around its rather quiet. At idle its a bit diesel-esque.

that is exactly how I would describe it smile

OP Must say I was one of the people that messaged you, but seeing the cost of the system I think its going to be worth you waiting for someone who likes the look (strange its so much more than the other options) as id not be paying a premium for that style over the H&S one which is over 2k cheaper.
Bet it sounds good though smokin

Think its going to be worth seeing how they are attached, as many cut the system meaning it will be fine for the new owner but might be difficult to re-attach the std system to your car...

they are just silencers so would this mean there would have been cutting involved? It all looks neat and OEM underneath the car no welding marks etc?? I think I am better finding some original silencers and selling it once they are off the car... as I just need to wait for the right buyer to come along.

Hi Dan,
If it's just the silencer, then I'm pretty sure you will need to cut the pipe to take it off. But, it's no big deal. The OEM one can be always welded back on. I wish I could afford what you are asking. But, do let me know if you are willing to accept my offer. Cheers.
