Hi Miles, fingers crossed I may have my mr2 back .... if so I'll try to come along - I still have several days credit with MSE. I think it was June my mr2 engine failed at abingdon, I thought giving it to a specialist to drop a 2ZZGE in would be a quick easy solution, how very wrong I was :-(

p.s blue Elise? Colour change or different car?

Just don't get to close to anyone !, off of the main runway it is horrendous for stone chips.

Would be great if you could make it, it's been a while since I last saw you on track smile

I only read about your MR2 failure the other day, sorry to hear. Hopefully all will be sorted in time for friday! Have you finished the mx5 yet?

Different elise, still a honda though smile

Sold the Motorsport body one? I must admit i liked it more inside as an Elise - it was very hot and noisy with the motorsport body, although it did look great.

It has just dawned on me that I won't be able to come on friday whatever the progress of the car as I'm in Stockholm this weekend and fly out on Friday wobble don't know whats happened to this year.

MX5 is slowly getting there really only wiring loom to do. I've been glad to have the motorbike this summer as the sports cars haven't been much use!

Wasn't when I went earlier on this year, the surface was crap and over the back where the off road course is there was dry mud and tiny stones scattered over the surface. It noticeably added to my stone chip count (not that I care) but a few of the nicer motors will be concerned about stone chips.

Thats a bit dissapointing, once I went in winter and offroaders had gone on to the track on the corner before the pitlane and left some mud, but Ed was very appologetic in the breifing before start and had swept it the best he could. It was a bit slippy then but by no means bad or anything that would cause chips.

I don't care about chips on my cars, part and parcel of using them but I never noticed anything hitting the car anyway.

Will be there in a Clio 172 (winter track day hack), and a friend is coming in his Elise which has had a blower bolted on, (as long as it's finished).

I find most airfield tracks a bit stone-chippy, but haven't noticed Abingdon being any worse than others.

I didn't find the surface an issue at all last time I went in the caterham, and in the caterham you notice any muck on the track as it goes in your face hehe

I'll be there in a silver MX5 - just need to get the snapped throttle cable off and get a new one on the carb linkage, oh and bleed the brakes....

Not been before, looking forward to it......(nips off to check the weather)

Good to meet you, and what a cracking day! Pretty much wet all day, although their was a dry line by 3pm.

Your carbs sounded lovely on that mx5 smile Maybe catch you on the 3rd December at Bedford wink

Top day and nice and slippy in places to test your nerve!!

Couldn't help but be impressed watching the GTR take off at warp speed from the pit lane in the rain, and following the lovely white Stag sideways around the pit corner, and Miles's K20 conversion....epic!

Great to meet you too, I'll take a look at Bedford tonight....
