Renault Clio (WARNING: Childish car buying content within)
Discussion
So, after coming off my company car scheme, a BMW 330i SE Touring was acquired to supplement my Mazda MX5 Track/Weekend car. After a period of running two cars, I decided to rationalise a little into one - the problem that I had was that the 330i was too refined, too competent, too good... The MX5 simply wasn't getting the use it deserved - whilst it was the perfect anti-thesis to the previous company Passat at the weekend, I tended to find myself driving the 3 series all the time.
So a change was on the cards, the MX5 was sold first, and the hunt began.
Armed only with the brief of 'Something I want' as the criteria, I set off to find a car that was interesting, and grabbed my attention. Much was dismissed for being too fast (Really?), too competent, too 'Germanic', too common, too pretty much everything!
I was beginning to think that the car I wanted didn't exist in my meagre budget.
Then I saw it. I giggled. I wanted to buy it.
So I did...

It's noisy. It's impractical. It's bad on fuel.
But it's mine, it has that body kit. It's in that colour. It has those seats.
I love it.
And if that's not what being a petrolhead is all about, I don't know what is.
May all of your car purchases be this badly planned and completely un-thought through. I raise a glass to buying a car based on heart, not head. I've never tried it before. I like it!

Very nice mate, some good options!
I have a 200 as my company car, you're right, they're terrible on fuel. Haha
Cheers! I 'doff (sp?) my cap to whoever originally specced it; I have visions of a conversation in a Renault dealership in late 2008 along the lines of...I have a 200 as my company car, you're right, they're terrible on fuel. Haha
"...Air con? Air con? What would I want that for? £850 for some seats, that's where the sensible moneys at!..."

That car is fantastic. I'd lose all the spoilers, though.
Yes, the 'be-winged' approach is divisive. Everyone hates it but me. Hey ho!
Under normal circumstances I would tend to agree with most, but in this case, it just looked so right. I can't put my finger on it, but it gels so well in the flesh
Welcome to the Clio RS fold... looks like you bought a nice spec one too!
That looks like Bradford to me.
There are lots of yorkshire owners on- http://www.clio197.net/forum/index.php (including myself) Lots of nice info and How to's for the clio on there too.

It is indeed Bradford, but i'm not, so to speak. I'm about 90 miles south. That looks like Bradford to me.
