so at the pub tonight a me and a few mates have come up with a mega secret idea! I will post results on youtube. Ok I need a sit on lawn mover to travel about 400 yards as fast as possible, and I think Nitrous would be the best option. so how do i got about this? We have a very small budget and

I will research more when sober.

Yes, I would advise you review the concept while sober as well.

With a top speed of never more than 10mph, you can reach it it 20 yards easily. Nitrous won't increase the speed.

As for gearing, well most of them are a belt drive with progressive levels of slip for the "gears" if I remember correctly on our old one. A surge of power from the nitrous will really just cause more slip and not really accelerate you any more.

Whether the majority of the V twins powering them could cope with the nitrous I'm not sure. I know of Harleys that have had nitrous so possibly

Equally, the lawnmower racing things do silly speeds, so work out how they sort the transmission and there may be scope.

yes The group 3 sit on mowers can reach 50mph. If you're still intent on this having sobered up then it'd be worth going to a BLMRA meeting and asking some questions.

I've only ever been involved in the Group 2 ride behind mower that my brother races, so I'm not sure exactly what the Group 3 and 4 mowers do in terms of modifications. Suffice to say, nitrous isn't the answer.
