They're a minefield of problems. The 120 engine is meant to be more reliable than the 150. The 1.7 better than all the 1.9's.
They use the same 1.9 in the Vectras, Saabs, Alfas etc and problems are well documented. They're prone to throwing timing belts at 30/40k etc as well as all the other general diesel problems.
I'd run a mile. If I wanted a diesel I'd be looking for a VAG 1.9 130 in an Octavia or Seat.
