LG lcd taking ages to turn on...

My LG 42" lcd is taking a long time to turn on, i press the on button and the power light goes green, flashes, then flashing red, solid red, flashing green, flashing red then solid red (off).
I have to do this 3 or 4 times to get it on - and its taking longer each day.
Other the dodgy start up, the screen/display is perfect.
Its 4 years old.
Any ideas?
Fixable? Or just bin it?
