The Metro is a great way to travel around - a 3 day ticket is just over 30 euros, which will also cover regional trains from the airport etc: http://www.citytourcard.com/english/munich/buy/tar...
BMW museum and factory tour are good, as you have mentioned. The Olympic park is right next to them: http://www.olympiapark.de/?L=1
Deutches Museum - I haven't done the main one, but there is also a transport one and an aviation one (which is halfway between central Munich and the airport)
Main Museum: http://www.deutsches-museum.de/index.php?id=1&...
Aircraft: http://www.deutsches-museum.de/en/flugwerft/inform...
Vehicles: http://www.deutsches-museum.de/index.php?id=verkeh...
If you like art there are a number of good museums in close proximity to one another, from ancient to modern. http://www.pinakothek.de/en/

Some I forgot...
There are some impressive squares dotted about the city, if grand looking buildings are your thing.
The English Garden can be a nice place for a walk too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Englischer_Garten

Thanks... I'd already looked at the metro system, planning on using it where needed.
A tower to go up sounds good.
Also I hear there's a good biergarten near the Englischer Garten...
There is a few biergartens around, although they might be a bit chilly in december! I'm sure you can find a brauhaus somewhere, so you can drink in warmth...A tower to go up sounds good.

The metro system was great, really easy to get around - I got great value of my ticket when I was there!
Another place to visit is Dachau: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dachau_concentration_... - Pretty sobering by all accounts, I didn't get the time to visit when I was over there though. It's a bit out of town but the total area travelcard covers it.
