Having bought a Tamora last weekend, we drove it with the roof off this weekend - it was good fun.

It seems to make sense to have a roof bag to help keep the roof safe when removed, especially if there are other things in the boot.

There seem to be 2 options.

The Leven bag, which is £78 + £5 P&P (from e-mail quote last week). 3rd item down in the link. This gets good reviews

This PH seller with roof bags for 1/2 the price which look like some kind of coloured plastic

Does anybody have experience of the 2nd type, or opinions of the choice? I am tempted to go with the first option although it is twice the price. I am worried about the robustness of the 2nd option.

Thanks

It is a must. I have the Leven bag, had it for 6 years. Starting to mark up a bit now but still does the job.

Make sure yours has the boot strut mod so that the boot opens slightly further, makes it so much easier to get the roof in - usually is just some extra washers on the strut.

I've had the Leven bag for a few months. Does the job nicely.

If you want a run out they're having an open day towards the end of the month so you could spend some money and have a coffee and mince pie.

The expensive Leven bag seems to get good reviews. Does anybody know about the cheaper option?

I like your style. At home, due to the council's recycling strategy, I even have the choice of black, purple or clear.

Job done smile

Might be a bit light on the protective side though.

An open day could be interesting. I am looking for any opportunities to drive my new car at the moment.

I don't know if they come as a factory option but the one I got with the car is really good quality with padding, a sipper and carrying handles... god knows where I'd carry a roof panel that weighs nearly as much as a small family hatch back!

Anyway its a must for me as I tend to use the boot as sort of extra cupboard!

Hi Dale,

Yep, nice shiney red one. Love it, great car.

Leven day is Sunday 27th November, 10am till 1pm.
I think there was snow on the ground last year so this year should be much better.

I think i heard James had a red one , are you going to PCC in it or the Sag .
perhaps you could lend one to Dave as i don't think he can make one runner out of his three wink

Hijacking my own thread, I thought blue was the faster (and therefore best) colour?

10 days into ownership and driving has been steady so far.

Just need to select a roof bag to keep my roof intact for the sunny winter days coming up.
