The UK could potentially give up to £40bn to the IMF to help the global economy, Treasury Chief Secretary Danny Alexander has said.

FFS is all I can manage.

Well actually, I think someone is moving a very large pair of goalposts behind our backs.

Where are we going to get £40B from, the UK isn't exactly awash with money at the moment . . . . . or are they continuing the very very stupid strategy of borrowing money to help other countries pay back their own loans

We are not giving away bags of cash, it's simply a guarantee to the IMF that we will back it the tune of 40B if required. It's mostly a confidence act, no-one wants to see the IMF run out of cash.

Don't forget it wan't too long ago that we had to get bailed out.

And the IMF will use it to bail out greece which should no have been allowed in the Euro anyway because they lied about their economy.
