We're off in Jan for our first family ski holiday and were going to split the journey at Dijon. Any recommendations or suggestions for a good place to stop for a night? We are travelling down on a Tuesday and back on the Monday so hopefully avoiding the usual Saturday Roof-rack race. Would welcome any suggestions further on also?
Many thanks

Although I haven't used one in Dijon, I can recommend the 'B&B' budget hotel range, as they do family rooms. For a stop-over they are very good value for money and clean. They often have a small restaurant close by, or near a shopping complex (so fast food McD's, Quick etc.)

All booking can be done on their website - in English

The campanile group are normally pretty reliable places to stay en-route in France. There is one in the centre of Dijon which is close to a good selection of places to eat.

If just passing through, I would stay out of the centre of Dijon at the moment as there are major road works everywhere and likely to stay that way for another few months. Unless you know the city, it will take a while to get through. Navigation equipment probably won't help as lots of streets have been made one way temporarily.
