sky plus box - picture keeps cutting out
Discussion
Dear all, I have upgraded to a yamaha 2067 av amp and currently connect my sky plus box via scart lead to the amp.
The sound is fine via optical but the picture keeps cutting out, sometimes constantly sometimes not for hours. it didn't do this with my old yamaha 750se amp.
it seems worse playing back programmes we've recorded.
Any ideas?

You say 'Connected to my amp via scart' so it could be down to the type of connection you're using. If the Sky box is near the tv, then direct connection using scart-to-scart (or HDMI) is best as you'll get the best quality, and with scart, the TV will switch over to Sky automatically.
The other possibility is the setting of the scart output on the Sky box confusing the amp. Try changing between 'RGB' and 'PAL' to see if that helps.

thanks for the responses guys, here is a full description (taken from an email) of the problem including a new issue that has arisen:-
Sky Plus box
I have my Sky plus box connected to the amp via scart to phono and with increasing regularity the picture keeps disappearing. I have turned off processing etc but with no difference. It also seems worse when playing back material recorded by the Sky plus box. It is almost getting to the point where i cannot watch TV any longer. My previous amp, the Yamaha 750SE never suffered this symptom ever. The red HDMI display keeps coming on and off along with the display on the TV.
I haven't plugged the sky box directly into the TV but as mentioned above my previous amp, a Yamaha 750SE never demonstrated this fault.
Bluray player
In addition, I have a Yamaha BDS1067 connected via HDMI to the amp. I have played a few blurays and video files over the network onto my TV which were fine but since using my projector I can no longer see a picture on the TV. I have set the HDMI output to just TV but still with no joy. Any ideas?
The TV is a 32" LCD LG and it is around 5 years old. Would it be too old to handle the latest equipment (that sounds very dirty reading it back!) although the PS3 worked perfectly well.
