I'm a tightwad for certain things. Airport parking being one of them.

I usually park on the back streets of Hounslow and just take the tube to Heathrow.

Have heard good things about Purple Parking, but never used them myself.

Purple parking, or business parking (sometimes called Pink Elephant) - just per book on heathrow web site for discounted prices...

I've flown out of Heathrow twice this year.

I've used the BAA website to check the prices as there are usually decent offers on.

One trip I parked in the business car park and took the pod thingy over to terminal 5. More recently they were doing a deal on the short stay car park, 1 week for £100, rather than the £400 is would normally be.

I stopped using Purple Parking meet and greet after being left waiting for almost 30 mins twice in a row, in the cold.

I know you're after term 3 rather than 5, but the point of this post is to say to check the BAA online prices and see what they've got, the externals may not be that much cheaper, if at all.

Used to work at the crown plaza hotel just down the road, park there, get the bus from the front of the hotel, holiday, come back, get the bus back ( costs a quid or two each ), go in and have a coffee at the bar, 10 minutes later ( sans luggage which you dropped of coming in ) go up to reception and tell them you came in to meet a friend and had a coffee and have miss placed you parking card, bingo they give you a pass and you are off out.

Come from 5 years working as concierge there, worst case they don't ( have never known them ever they bend over backwards for customers) slip the front door men a fiver and they will get you one.

I've used Purple Parking many times and have never seen a bad word said against them.

Except mine only 2 posts up. smilesmile

To be fair to them they'd been excellent the 10 times before, but I just felt after the last two times that I wasn't getting the meet and greet service I was paying for, so started shopping around again.

Another vote for purple parking....although I need to find a need to park in the business car park and use the unmanned pods at some point...
