Not the usual winter tyre question
Discussion
Ok, this question might make me look like a 'tard, but I could do with some advice from those more knowledgeable than myself....
While discussing winter tyres (stay with me!)* a colleague of mine told me it's a bad idea to change the tyres on your wheels an extra 2 times per year (i.e. to switch to winter tyres then backa again) as it can cause the rim to be weakened. Hence why these continental types all get a 2nd set of wheels for winter tyres.
Is there any truth in this, yea or nay?
Thanks in advance
(*) To pre-empt any 'you don't need them in the UK' type smackdowns, I'm currently in Germany so do need them by law....
PS already posted this in the German section, although it's usually pretty quite in there so put it here too.
