As the fuel injection system is mechanical and relies on fuel pressure etc to get the metering, I am not sure that changing the fuel pressure with a risisng rate unit would have the required effect as the system may simply try and compensate.

If you mean tuning as in more power...

1. Stick a V8 in it. but easier to say than do as the 350i had different chassis to provide more space.
2. You probably need to start changing mechanical bits like cams and so on. `you will also need to uprate the brakes and suspension as well. Look at the Burton Power website for a start.

If you mean tuning to get rid of the flat spot...

Probably a session on a rolling road so the fault can be reproduced and analysed to see where the problem is.

What about sticking a Cosworth V6 in it? It has been done and there's one for sale on the RS Owners web site for £250 which includes ECU, wiring etc.

Have you finished that yet?
I seem to remember talking to you about it at least a couple of years ago...

Steve, no it's not finished yet. I only get to spend about 7 hours a week on it so progress is a little slow. I am on a tight budget so I am trying to complete most of the work myself.
There have been a few things I have had to modify/make, Sump, air intake (had to be re designed as the standard one fouled on the chassis), gearbox mounts, prop, rewire, new fuel setup etc etc.
I have also been rebuilding the suspension and uprating brakes to take the extra power also fitting a role over bar, which I couldn't buy off the shelf.
The work left is mainly smaller stuff like the wiring, water piping, cables etc
Regards SteveE
