I don't know for sure, but talk seems to be hinting at both variants of this car being available in the UK. Prices, spec and what it'll actually look like are all pretty vague still.

But if you are a potential buyer of one of these, who would you intend to buy from and why?

I don't know.

Ask again when the UKDM specs and prices are finalised.

It would be madness to buy either without having driven both.

Toyota.

Prefer the looks and like the idea of it being more lightweight and maybe a bit more agile? Won't know until road tests are in.

Pricing would also make a huge difference.

Difficult to tell though as I think they will drive pretty much the same.

I agree. Although I just wonder if more people would flock to one over the other regardless.

Also makes you wonder what sort of strategy Toyota and Subaru are going to go for, i.e. are they both going to target exactly the same potential customers with near identical vehicles, or are they going to place one in more of a premium position with more spec and a more GT orientated feel?

With such a specialist car it's odd to have two companies both selling in the same market.
