I get to drive this occasionally (usually when I've cleaned it ), she's always been a BMW fan & previous cars have been M635i, 840, E46 M3, E46 M3 cab, this is her favourite, had it almost a year now with no problems at all. It's just a little bit different than my MINI Cooper S

We had the car professionally detailed (recommended) the day the photos were taken & the car has never looked better.

Took Mrs H quite a while to decide on the wheels Martin, MT helped in the decision

I've always thought of the small convertible bmw's as looking fairly feminine, until they released the coupe - it is a much more solid looking car with a roof which sets those angular swage lines off nicely and accentuates the length of the bonnet which imo adds up to making it look more masculine. Quite refreshing to see a woman who takes an interest in blokey type cars, especially one who'd own a 635 rather than the usual bugeye'd cute hatches and the like. My wife is quite into muscle cars, mustangs mostly (though they are technically pony cars) she's never owned one or driven one though.

The (220bhp + race type adjustable coilover suspension) MINI keeps up around our local twisties ,

She's never been into 'normal' cars, & would much rather own a proper petrolhead motor

She owned the M3 cab before the Z4M & when the time came to change cars test drove the 3 litre version of the Z, wasn't completely happy with it, asked to test the M & that was it, carried on with the M version (I'm happy to say ).

Same here, not the most beautiful looking car but got a real purposeful look about about it. Lovely to drive too.

The Mrs admits she hasn't got total confidence to push anywhere near it's roadholding limits through the twisties, I'd love to be able to talk her into some sort of novice track day kind of thing (with pro instruction) in the car, shown her Bedford etc. on youtube to give an idea of the sort of driving you can do, she's not too taken with it tough & quite worried about being on track with a lot of other cars, getting in the way, making a big mistake etc. Not sure what would be the best option to help?

How about getting her into some track tuition in another car, like a super car experience or specific training, build her confidence and skillset on track that way until she's happy to take her own out?
