There is a room in my house that has a faint smell of smoke in it. Sometimes you notice it, sometimes you don't. The odd thing is that nobody has smoked in the whole house for over 4 years and I'm not even sure whether the previous tenant was a smoker.

The room is regularly aired out, at least in the warmer months anyway.

Could the smell linger for this long?

What should I do to try and get rid of the smell?

Thanks!

Could this be coming from next door or are you detached. Even so it could still get in through vents or gaps.

Haunted I'd say...

Redecorating should fix it.

It's a typical late 1800s London mid-terrace. The elderly neighbour does smoke so I suppose it could come from next door.
