There seem to be a large number of people expecting (or recently having) twins so I thought I'd start a thread for people with twins or triplets or more. Hopefully it will be useful to share experiences and give advice on matters specifically to do with multiples, like what car, buggy, feeding etc. or just have a place to compare how little sleep you've had

Sound familiar. I really need my sleep and have struggled with the sleep deprivation. Mine started sleeping through the night from 18 months so hopefully things will get better for you soon. but I love the little buggers to death.Chris Peacock said:

We got back from a further scan on monday to find our twins will be identical.......
So we will have a three year old and idendtical twins next april......(yay)

Have you thought about double buggies? We've had ours since they were born and we're still using it now. Don't buy on looks or brand, try one out. Light weight with slick runflat tyres

That is a beast! I have to push my 2 up a steep hill twice a week to nursery and seeing that makes me wince.

It all depends on your sleeping arrangements and your budget. I have a cot for night time when my one arrives (only having one btw) to get her straight into that routine, and I will use my pram downstairs for the afternoon naps. Saves money and my thoughts are they are not long in them, you can even get a cot divider so you can have them both in the one cot for a while if this suits better. However check that you can use your pram for afternoon naps. I found reviews that suggested some were not suitable which struck me as strange.
We had our boys side by side in a large cotbed until they were to big and then moved them into seperate cots (which they didn't like and refused to sleep in), they're now 21 months and have their own big beds.
They also shared a moses basket in the begining as they were so little, when they outgrew that they had a campcot which they slept in during the day.
They only ever fight over toys and my mobile phone, they happily swap bottles between themselves at night time, and cups during the day, dinner is a free for all with whoever finishes first usually pinching his brothers dinner.

Our two shared a cot bed until they were too big and then had one each. We also had small cribs downstairs so we could keep an eye on them when they were very small. They are now almost 3 and have had proper single beds since they turned 2. We didn't bother with toddler beds or even bed rails and they've been fine, well only fallen out a couple of times anyway!
One more suggestion: sleeping bags. These are brilliant when they are a little bit older (may not be suitable for new borns). I lost track of the number of times I was woken because they kicked their covers off until I discovered these. The Grobags are quite expensive but Ikea do them for a reasonable price.
Checking into this thread, as our twins (one of each) are due for induction in about 2 weeks time (if they don't arrive sooner). I've also posted in the PH Parents of 2012 thread.
We've got a 2 year old daughter and so have some idea of what to expect, but also have her to juggle around newborns - which is going to be interesting.
Most things are sorted:
Got a Ford Galaxy to help transport the tribe - the bonus being 3 car seats across the second row and plenty of room in to the boot for the pram+paraphernalia. Also got isofix bases for the twins, so we can go direct from car to pram.
Went for the iCandy Pear, as the wife wasn't happy with any of the others for one reason or another. Time will tell whether it was a good idea or not ... but we got it second hand for a decent price.
Clothes and whatnot we have in abundance due to friends made when having our first giving us bags and bags of stuff.
We are going for two moses baskets, in the hope it causes less issues when they go into separate cots - but we aren't being rigid about things, so this may change for an easier life.

Yeah, the thing we learnt with our boys is you can't be rigid or expect anything, they'll do what they want to do. Ours wouldn't sleep apart for the first year, if we put them in seperate cots they would cry untill we put them together, now they're nearly two and fight if they go in the same bed (which is a problem as they like to come into our room in the early hours of the morning and get in the middle.)
We also spent a fortune on fancy bottles and special anti-colic teats, only for them to refuse to drink from them, they would only take NUK teats or the cheap pound store bottle type teats. Which would have been great, had I not spent about 100 quid on bottle beforehand.

I'm a twin, i've got a twin sister so obviously not identical, we were conceived naturally and not IVF, a lot of twins i've met have been IVF twins.
Sadly i was born a week premature (15th instead of the 21st) so i'm a taurus and not a gemini, being a twin and being a gemini would satiate my OCD perfectly
The stupid questions you get are bloody annoying though, things like do you want to be in the same class, do you look alike (this is when they know i have a sister!) and another brilliant one are things along the lines of can you feel each others pain!
I'd like to think we have a telepathic connection but as i don't believe in woo i know it's not true!

As far as having two of things goes, we had 4 bouncy chairs. Two downstairs and two upstairs, because we had a 3 storey house. They were very handy for feeding them bottles at the same time. The cheap mother care tend to break but they replace them without question so we had 3 new ones IIRC.
We also have two Ikea high chairs, which come apart so we regularly take them with us if we eat out.
