I have an Audi A6 diesel quattro estate that I'm taking to the Alps this year, I suspect I wont need snow chains but best to be safe than sorry (also I remember the French police pulling people over outside an overpriced garage insisting that people put on chains which the proprietor of said garage was happy to sell you).
The tyres I have are 205/55 16, what would you guys recommend?
These don't look too bad:

Then someone mentioned michelin easy grip, they look new to the market but people are saying they are as good as regular (mid range) chains:

Anyone used them? Are they any good?
Thanks...

The price of these things has rocketed. I bought some cheap ones and in the few times I've needed them they were fine. I can't see the need to spend a fortune unless you're expecting to use them regularly, then buy something with a convenient fit option.
Mine are something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9mm-Car-Snowchains-our-b...
