550i rather than 545i if you are in the market.
I had a E39 540i and changed to an E61 550i. The E60 is more refined, a little better and a few more modern comforts inside. BUT the interior isn't as good quality as the E39 and it doesn't feel as 'right' as the E39 did.
So 545i vs Alpina E39... I'd take the E39 if same mileage/condition and you don't need the slightly more room in an E60

If you had the choice, would you choose an e39 Alpina 4.6 or an boggo E60 545?
Assume price is the same...
Hello cactussed, I won't bore you with the drive them line but the E60 really is a great car plus of course its not that long out of production. E39's are great but they are getting on in years now so this might be a maintainece factor. Some of the Alpina parts may be pricey and trim part can be expensive and difficult to locate. Assume price is the same...
I know you want a v8 so if it were I a 550 would be on the cards and think of the pub chat...... I have a 355 and 550 lol
Ps if your 355 has owl on its plate I owe u beer as u treated us to a flyby on the way to Le Mans a couple of years ago
