The question is... what do you think I should do?
My nitrous assisted Chimaera is now capable of running mid 11's on the dragstrip regularly but can do as most others in that it can be used everyday, return reasonable mpg and when ive fitted better brakes will perform well on trackdays.
I have friends (1 in particular) who are moving their projects forward and will be running faster times at the strips. This isnt good!
I can tweak my car and push it to run quicker but not to a level i need to be competetive.
So do i take the big step and turn the car into a dedicated drag racer with a multi-linked live axle, huge rear tyres, wheelie bars and dare i say it... a trick autobox.
Or i suppose a 3rd option.... pick up a dog of a Chim and start the project fresh.

You know I just have to reply.
1) From the perspective of the son of a dedicated classics, vintage, veterans owner / restorer; I just hate to see one 'destroyed'. It will, if it survives, be a classic one day.
2) As a one having long time love affairs with both the 1320 and my Chimaera; I want to see you 'blow their doors off', especially if you can do it with an RV8.
(not that I especially love the RV8, but that is an essential part of what makes a TVR Chimaera a TVR Chimaera)
IMO you seem to have gone just about as far as one can without completely ehem, messing it up.
Emotional Diversion) If it's a good one, and it looks okay to me
, then a new 'old dog' would be a much kinder thing for all concerned. 
I expect it would hurt you less than having to approach the poor unsuspecting creature with blow torch and hammer at the ready.
It's not her fault the Peter didn't see it coming and have the car designed differently.

A few years back I got into this habit.
I had a lovely 396 ci Chevelle with a 4speed manual. It was lovely to drive and great fun being a manual.
A couple of friends and I were always trying to go faster than each other.
I ended up with a really cammy, 454ci and a full manual valve body auto and a stupid converter and a much lower final drive ratio in the diff.
Yeah it was definitely much faster but it was no fun other than on a strip or for a few seconds at the traffic lights.
I wouldn't bother doing it again, thats for sure!

I am leaning heavily to a way forward for the future but am also very interested in the opinions of others.
I think with the right chassis and an old 4.6 RV8 with a blower and nitrous could run 8's.
The initial aim would be high 9's and work from there.
I know there were a few doing it in the Rover V8 Drag Racing Championship about 20 years ago.
