I've only ever done one cruise before which was with Ocean Village in the med.

I'd like to go again next summer with the girlfriend but I've just seen than Ocean Village have closed down. I liked the ship because of the informal atmosphere.

I couldn't think of anything worse than a snooty ship to make me feel uncomfortable. Are there any other informal cruise companies?

Carnival is one that springs to mind and might be worth looking at?

Never been with them though, so can't really comment on what they're actually like.

Royal Caribbean Brillient. As formal or informal as you want to make it. We've done a few with and loved it

Avoid Thomson at all costs. Very chavvy guests. Tired ships and poor entertainment in my opinion

Funny, because I thought cruises attracted a particular demograph:

Europe/Med = Octogenarians

US/Carib = Swingers

And never the two may mix!

Looks like I'm off to the Caribbean then!
