Does anyone know where I can track down a spare AJP V8 engine? I'm assuming there must be some SOMEwhere, there's gotta be a few cerbies that've been bingled that need a new home for their engine surely.... not really after a NEW one, anything considered really.

Any ideas?

Your not still toying with the idea of putting an AJP into that TR7 are you?

The TR8 was mental and quite a handfull even in professionals hands, so an AJP powered one would just be crackers.

Hehehe mayyyyybe Hehe fear not, it's only a thought, if it gets an AJP or an RV8 I'm still looking at about the same power output.... just investigating different ways to crack the same nut I've paid off my student loan now and for the first time in my 9-year working history, I'm not working for the sole purpose of saving/paying for my education so it's TIME TO GO BONKERS

Hi George, I was in Douglas Valley Breakers the other day on a little bits hunt and they have 2 or 3 Cerbs in there...one of which had a very clean and undamaged looking engine....i'm pretty sure it was an AJP but the back end of the car was missing so no badges and the bonnet wouldn't open properly. The guy at Douglas Valley tells me it was a runner when it came in?? He also told me I was mad for taking my kids out in a "plastic bag with a V8" but there you go!!

Why do breakers and body shops have a downer on TVRs? Even those that specialise in TVR have always had a downer in my experience.

Yeah, I agree - that patronising attitude of 'well, mate, if you're stupid enough to buy one far be it from me to call you an idiot'. You even get it at some dealers, albeit not from the salesmen. How annoying. You hope it stems from envy, rather than insider knowledge...

He has a real downer on them at Douglas Valley, I had to get away otherwise i'd have been afraid to drive it home!! I don't think he realised he was stood in front of a pile of about 100 911's while he was telling me how dangerous TVR's are!

I think sometimes people are unaware of how offensive their comments are and probably only taking the pi55, but clearly and rightly so you guys are offended, if he was questioning your judgement and parental ability, he is correct TVRs can be dangerous, like many other good things in life.
