Enough of the unhealthy hating!

What car do you feel the vast majority of us would like to have?

My three choices would be:

1. Original Mini
2. X300 XJ
3. Lotus Elise

4. Defender.
5. Range Rover Classic (this would be my choice).

By the masses? Probably a Ford I'd guess, Mk1 Escort or similar.

I guess Defenders & classic Minis always seem to be a welcome sight. Old jags are nice to see around too.

And TVRs, naturally.

Not that I particluarly like them but the Morris Minor has to be up there in the most loved stakes.

Most PHers or most "normals"?

The former would be a multi-car garage consisting of an MX-5, an Elise, an E36 328i, an E39 M5 and at least one LandRover product, varying according to the individual level of financial masochism and technical ability. Plus at least one hypercar.

The latter: Something that does 60mpg+ has free VED, low insurance, is cheap AND doesn't depreciate, costs no more than £100pa to service and will never, ever, ever have any faults.

The Morris Minor Traveller is a car that seems to make people smile.

I don't fancy the sin bin; hence posting the censored version of the picture. If it's OK for Top Gear to broadcast on BBC Two to millions of viewers, then it should be OK on here. wink

Judging by the "What car?" threads, some sort of BMW.

If the question is, most loved by the general public and that put a smile on the face when they see one, I would say;

1) E Type
2) Aston Martin DB5
3) Mini

Any 90's RS badge or old hot hatches - pug 205 is still a great car.

if they could make a new sports hatch without safety features that would top it.
