Apparently, i may have trouble building my extension (from the back of my house) owing to a new rule introduced by thames water saying -

"there cannot be 3 extensions built over one sewer run in a row"

my neighbours either side both have extensions so i would be falling fowl of this rule if its true. my architect was the one who told me about it but its not something i have ever heard of.

any help appreciated.

Scratch that.

Seems like my architect was trying to pull a fast one.

Colleague of mine wnated to buy a house with a pipe udnereath the extension. i nthe end they had to get soem isnurance so that if the extension was demoslish to give access to the pipes it would then be rebuilt.

We were told that something similar would have to be put in place if we built a side extension over the main sewer pipe which runs down the garden.

Play chicken with these turkeys, don't let them see you quail, they're just pheasant pluckers.

sorry for my typo, was clearly thinking about birds!

i have now sorted the issue - he is no longer working for me.

basically, its a new house in a new area (not one i usually buy in) and this guy was recommended to me by a couple of people in the road so thought i'd give him a try, turns out it was a bit of a schoolboy error and i'm now using someone else i know.

thankyou for the helpful comments as well as the taking the piss with my Fowl language! tongue out
