Hi, Anyone out there help with the options available to get Rostyle wheels that will fit a 1959 Wolseley 1500. Looks to be 4 stud with the hole centres wider than an MGB which is 3 and quarter inch, maybe 3 and 3 quarters of an inch, with a suitable aperture for the hub centres.
Maybe Morris Minor, Hillman Hunter ?? Next question is has anyone got 4 reasonable ones for sale?

Can you not get the original wheels banded?

they cut and add a band in to make your wheels wider.

http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/wheeloffset.html

I'd start by finding out what you have at the moment.

Information is for a friend of mine, he fancies Rostyles for his Wolseley, so I lent him the spare wheel from my MGB, looks good but he says the spacing of the studs was too close, by half an inch, I measured the MGB hole centres to be 3 and a quarter inches. Hoping some one has done this swop and can advise, because obviously the off set and the tyre clearances must be considered.

Ignore the like "dub scene" innit brigade it's money for old rope but basically these are the guys who banded my Spitfire wheels because I couldn't find a set of decent GT6 wheels anywhere at the time.

You could always get a set of Wellers and re-drill the centres.

A friend on the PPC forum has a set with tyres for £50.

years n years n years ago, I ran a wolseley 1500 that cost me the princely sum of 20 quid and a pair of trousers (SU 8201 was the Reggie No) I spent ages in the big scrappies at Inverkeithing trying to do a wheel upgrade and eventually left with Rostyles from a Vauxhall. I cant remember if it was a Viva, Victor, Magnum but there are defo some Vauxhall wheels that fit.

They were a steal, as at that time you could only get new tyres from Michelin which were more than i paid for the bloody car.

Thanks for that, I came across some info that suggested a Vauxhall Viva had the same stud arrangement, so that sounds like a good place to start.

Ah bugger, just found some old photos and for a while I only had them on the back as the fromt hub/grease cover was too big to get them on directly. I think i had to get some "machining" done on them - or maybe it was a wheel spacer - to open up the centre bore and get them on.

Sorry but it was 25 years ago!

Not sure whether banding is strictly legal these days? (C & U?)

C+U 1974 on a car registered in 1959 should be fine provided it is to profesionally.

A quick Google shows the Wolsey 1500 to have a PCD of 4 inches. Any one confirm this is 4x100 in "new" money?

I read this as well 4x 4inch PCD, but now he has found Moggy Minor Wheels fit apparently,( earlier ones had different size to later ones and even early Marina ones could fit??) my mate had a spare lying around and tried it. This is getting confusing , I will get him to accurately measure the studs, then get back on here!!

The Wolseley hubs are the same as the Moggy Minor as they are broadly the same car underneath. I remember the rear drums on my 1500 had the same linings as the Moggy Minor Van. The early Marina Rostyle wheels should fit because basically the Marina was based on the Moggy Minor!

The Wolesley is the same size a Riley 1.5 & Morrie Minor at 4 inch. 1 inch is 25.4mm so 4 inches is 101.6mm so not really 100mm  NOt aware of any Rostyles in that size but quite a common race car size so plenty of alloys.

Ahhh, Got it now, measuring the stud spacing is like a TV screen, diagonally, yes 4 inches, so my mate will be looking for Moggy Minor or Marina fittings, but 14 inch diameter. Makes sense now we know.
Thanks Folks.

NOT Marina, these run Triumph spacing at 3 3/4" same as Herald, Vitesse, TR7, Dolomite etc.
