I am looking for a means of driveway edging to split grass from drive way which will then be stone gravel to a few inches.

we have a large turning circle in the middle, actually more of a tear drop shape, Any ideas of what to use, ideally it would be brick / concrete edging but it all seems to be totally straight lengths, so how would a builder / brick layer do that ? Would each length be set off at an angle and then the V filled with cement to give a continuous run ? I am imagining it would look a bit rubbish but maybe not !

any advise / thoughts / photos of your own drives etc etc would be GREAT !

Depends how tight the curve is, when I did Mum & Dad's a few years ago, they wanted a sweep at one end. I used pre-existing concrete edging, dug a small trench & bedded the edging with mortar, it looked ok but it was a very shallow curve.

There were some corners as well, but I mitred those with an angle grinder. Butting up looks really naff on a corner.

You might find this useful

Did ours recently to put an edge between the lawn and gravel drive, we ended up with what our guy called a 'soldier course' of red brick (matches house).

Basically its one course of bricks laid side by side (rather than end to end), flat face up. I'll try and post a picture at some point but I'm away for a couple of days.

I'd been looking for ages and just couldn't find anything from the likes of Marshalls etc that fitted with the house which is red brick Edwardian. Pleased with the result we got and the curve we have in it looks perfect.

Something like the above.
