Best "Rucksack" Style Camera Bag.
Discussion
Any suggestions as to a "Rucksack" style camera bag affording good protection to one's prized new DSLR, and perhaps a pair of binocs and a limited quantity of other gadgets...and also providing a "rucksack" style area into which the waterproofs/sandwiches and bottled water can go.
The idea is I want to do some Landscape Photopgraphy in the Picos de Europa and would prefer to avoid too many swinging little bags festooning my exhausted, hot and sweaty self...I also want the camera to be *easy* to get out rather than needing to dig about in a conventional rucksack for ages...so I don't want to go down the "light case" route shoved into the main sack.
Day walks only, of course, so the other provisions I need to carry will be limited to what is necessary to make one comfortable for the day - waterproofs/hat/food/drink.
All suggestions of makes/models/where to purchase gratefully recieved...

Some suggestions are in this thread:

I've only used Lowepro, and rate them very highly. The mini-trekker that I've got has plenty of space for camera gear, and a smallish front pocket for other bits, although you'd struggle to get more than a very small bottle of water and a chocolate bar in there!

I have a lowepro Orion £45.

The bottom padded section hold the body with 50mm lens and then has four slots big enough for 300mm lenses.
It has one other for filters etc.
The top section is equally as big but is unpadded and very suitable for my phone, wallet, binoculars, dry clothes, lunch and race programme
The material used for the outside of the bag is THE BEST! I bought a Karrimor back back for £150 and spent a year travelling the world with it. When I cleaned it up at home it was still like new. They call the material "ballistic bomb proof" which is quite apt.
CONS
The down sides of my bag is it has no tripod attachment (but its possible to strap on to it) and it probably wont hold huge L series lenses.
PROS
The upside is the padded area for the important bits and the fact it is very water proof. The exterior material wont wear out. It also has a waist and chest strap to help bare the load and is comfortable to wear.
If you have the money I would go for the next one up with tripod straps. Otherwise this one comes well recommended.

Cool. That's just what I needed. There's a Lowepro dealer in town so I'll nip down there at lunchtime and nose around their bags...
I see Lowepro also now do a "DryZone" "floating" bag!

Glad my review served a purpose!
Certainly did!

I'll bring the bag into work and meet you in town tomorrow lunchtime if you want.
A very kind offer. I'm doing customer facing things tomorrow though so can't make then...

Assuming that that is the same town I have seen your Tiv drive to the train station in the mornings.
I suspect it is! Yes...I work in the town...oh the shame.

Tell you what, though. If you also work in town we should meet just-after-after work sometime to sort out POTBIII arrangements...The Sprootle Goose being a car friendly venue...
Next week sometime? (Probably best if conversation continues by e-mail....)
