Tested: Aldi Xenon headlight bulbs :P
Discussion
So I was driving a cyclops, and I've currently got some osram nightbreakers on the way, but today as I popped into Aldi I noticed they had some headlight bulbs, as well as other things I want (Arc welder anyone?)
H7, 55 watts, 12 volt Xenons to be precise. For 3.99.
I was quite curious as to how good they are, especially as the computer I'm currently on is from aldi, came with a 3 year warranty and has been great.
So I popped to a friends house, who has a large drive, and we set to work in the dark using the aldi work light I purchased on a whim at the same time
After a few minor setbacks, including spilling a can of pepsi in the engine bay (I gave him some abuse for that), and him leaving a bulb in the engine bay which they trapped the bonnet so it wouldn't close properly (more abuse from me), we had one of the bulbs in. The diference was notable, and it gave out a clearer light, and seemed to illuminate better. Put the other one on, and after a few hours playing the new call of duty, I went for a midnight hoon to test out the bulbs.
I give them a firm thumbs up over the stock bulbs in my pug 406
Not sure how they compare to other bulbs, or the nightbreakers, which I might get round to fitting when they arive. Will compare the two next week hopefully!
