Do you like your current car?
Discussion
Might seem like an odd question, but do you?
When I had my MX5, I liked it, but it was too thirsty.
When I had a battered polo, It was rubbish, but I liked it for it's character.
I liked my 911 for obvious reasons.
But now, times are harder, the fleet has gone and I only have room for 1 car. So it's a 2001 1.2 8v clio.
It's economical and it does the job. But I don't like it. It's just a tool.

I love my Elise. Seven months on I'm still peeking at it through the curtains before I go to bed.
My OH loves the MINI as she's wanted one for years. I don't mind it but would love to try a manual one to see if it would worm its way into my affections a bit more.
I've loved all my cars, some more than others admittedly.

not really, 2001 Audi TT 225, i was seduced by coilovers and remaps and shiny things, in reality i should have bought something bigger.
I would put it up for sale, but the fact i've owned it for only 3 months and spent far too much money on it already means i'm going to have to live with it till at leat March/april next year.
Should have bought an ST220 or E39 M5.

MX-5.
I absolutely love it, looked at replacing it earlier this year but decided to keep it. I can't see me ever getting rid of it to be honest.
I fancy something like an RX-8 (or at least something with a bigger boot than the '5 and 4 seats) but I just can't bring myself to buy one as I know it wouldn't get used!

Its a means to and end (Passat TDI 130) Its nice and punchy and comfortable but handles like a boat, I enjoy driving it because i enjoy driving most cars but my previous car which was a Scooby i miss every day depsite costing me a small fortune to run.
I never once got tired of its thrust, grip and ability to laugh out loud and make me feel like a driving God.
I'd buy another tomorrow if i could.

I downsized 18 months ago from a Focus ST to a Fiesta zetec S. The Fiesta is everything I bought it for but it's just not the Focus. I'm very fond of it but I don't love it like I did the Focus, I really miss that car and if money were no object I'd track it down and buy it back!
Likewise I recently got given a shiny brand new Transit for work. It's good and all that but it's struggling A LOT to fill the whole left by my previous Vivaro.

The Elise is the best everyday road car I've ever driven, so in that I agree with Kambites. Mine's only getting used occasionally now though, and I can't help thinking I'd be better off with a Caterham or 2-11, which would be faster and more raw and better suited to the occasional drives that I do in such a car.
The BMW 320d is utterly superb and I'm chuffed to bits with it. It's such a smooth and fluid drive compared with other BMWs I've tried, and it's very practical as well. My only gripe is its lack of power, but it doesn't get to me too much, I think I'm happier with the higher mpg compared to a quicker model.
For the future I'll probably keep the 320d until it gets too long in the tooth then replace it with another. The Elise/Caterham situation is bouncing round my head though and I just can't decide what to do!
