Might seem like an odd question, but do you?
When I had my MX5, I liked it, but it was too thirsty.
When I had a battered polo, It was rubbish, but I liked it for it's character.
I liked my 911 for obvious reasons.

But now, times are harder, the fleet has gone and I only have room for 1 car. So it's a 2001 1.2 8v clio.
It's economical and it does the job. But I don't like it. It's just a tool.

Well, I like most cars I've owned, even the crap ones. I can always find something characterful, or enjoyable about it, be it speed, comfort, or even downright crappiness! My vit is not fast, handles crap, isn't great on fuel, but I have a ball in the silly little thing.

I have an MX5, when I'm at University it doesn't move much and can be a pain to keep putting money into it.

As soon as I get home, and drive it.. I get an almost 'laugh out loud' smile and all those thoughts go out the window..

I do actually, yes. It was only meant as a cheap runaround but now I can't get rid! (1993 MR2)

I love it, but needs to go to clear a loan at the moment frown

Anyone want to buy a DC5?

I love my Elise. Seven months on I'm still peeking at it through the curtains before I go to bed.

My OH loves the MINI as she's wanted one for years. I don't mind it but would love to try a manual one to see if it would worm its way into my affections a bit more.

I've loved all my cars, some more than others admittedly.

The Elise - yes, it's the best road car I've ever driven.

The Punto is rubbish but does the job it was bought for. We'll probably be replacing it with something a bit more decent fairly soon - an E46 being top of the list at the moment.

not really, 2001 Audi TT 225, i was seduced by coilovers and remaps and shiny things, in reality i should have bought something bigger.
I would put it up for sale, but the fact i've owned it for only 3 months and spent far too much money on it already means i'm going to have to live with it till at leat March/april next year.
Should have bought an ST220 or E39 M5.

Had it 6 years & enjoyed every minute of ownership, very reliable even though it's been tuned a bit, still brings a big smile to my face after a good 'hoon' biggrin

Passengers seem to enjoy it too laugh

I have to, for now until better times, so for now just keep it and look like a mong every time I go out in it.

Or use the van.

MX-5.
I absolutely love it, looked at replacing it earlier this year but decided to keep it. I can't see me ever getting rid of it to be honest.
I fancy something like an RX-8 (or at least something with a bigger boot than the '5 and 4 seats) but I just can't bring myself to buy one as I know it wouldn't get used!

My old cars I love, and would hate to sell them.
My Strange Rover I really enjoy, but I might fancy a change one day.

My BMW 650i Sport I hate! Its boring unless you floor it, and you can't go around driving it like that all the time.

I do this with my car and I've had it almost 4 years smile

I love my car. It cheers me up to drive it, it's great fun. Just a shame it sounds like a tractor.

Its a means to and end (Passat TDI 130) Its nice and punchy and comfortable but handles like a boat, I enjoy driving it because i enjoy driving most cars but my previous car which was a Scooby i miss every day depsite costing me a small fortune to run.

I never once got tired of its thrust, grip and ability to laugh out loud and make me feel like a driving God.

I'd buy another tomorrow if i could.

I downsized 18 months ago from a Focus ST to a Fiesta zetec S. The Fiesta is everything I bought it for but it's just not the Focus. I'm very fond of it but I don't love it like I did the Focus, I really miss that car and if money were no object I'd track it down and buy it back!

Likewise I recently got given a shiny brand new Transit for work. It's good and all that but it's struggling A LOT to fill the whole left by my previous Vivaro.

The Elise is the best everyday road car I've ever driven, so in that I agree with Kambites. Mine's only getting used occasionally now though, and I can't help thinking I'd be better off with a Caterham or 2-11, which would be faster and more raw and better suited to the occasional drives that I do in such a car.

The BMW 320d is utterly superb and I'm chuffed to bits with it. It's such a smooth and fluid drive compared with other BMWs I've tried, and it's very practical as well. My only gripe is its lack of power, but it doesn't get to me too much, I think I'm happier with the higher mpg compared to a quicker model.

For the future I'll probably keep the 320d until it gets too long in the tooth then replace it with another. The Elise/Caterham situation is bouncing round my head though and I just can't decide what to do!

Yes. V5 Golf (170 version). Sounds great and makes me smile when I get to put my foot down.
