Moving into our new home early next year and have a decent size garden to maintain! Been looking at lawnmowers and decided just a nice, light (ish) electric rotary lawnmower is fine for me.

Have been offered a 'Bosch Rotak 34' for £50.00 from work, sound like a good deal? Seems to get really good reviews on the net so seems like a steal to me...

Had my one for years... does the job well enough. I've not managed to break it yet anyhow....

Buy a push cylinder one - we have a fairly big garden and I can do it quicker with a better finish AND get some exercise with the push mower. Infact, the electric one is probably harder to push!

i have the 43 version and its been great so far not a big garden but it cuts it well enough much better than our old flymo that just squished the grass and didnt cut it really

Another vote for the push mower!

Be warned however, you need to keep on top of it as it will struggle with more than a week's growth.

I have a rotak 34 too. Excellent small budget mower, and i spent months researching them smile

I paid £80 for mine new 2 years ago (On offer from one of the DIY places, think it was focus)

Electric? Push? Can't believe this thread - this is Pistonheads. You need a petrol lawnmower!

Seriously, they aren't that much more expensive and you'll get a much better finish with a good petrol mower.

Self-propelled petrol, I'd never go back to electric.

Used mine for a season now, a whole heap better than the flymo before, but one gripe. The height adjustment is a bit ropey. Other than that, its really good, leaves stripes and cuts well. If you can stretch it get a 36 as the 2 inches extra width makes a difference.
