Hi folks,
Just picked up an M5 and it has 2 x 275/35/18 Dunlop Sport 9000 with about 3mm tread on the rear and 1 x 245/40/18 Dunlop Sport 9000 with about 6mm tread & 1 x 245/40/18 Pirelli P zero with about 6mm tread on the front. Obviously I will need to get some new rear tyres and also would like to get 4 of the same tyres on each corner. I would prefer to get 3 Pirelli tyres or 3 Dunlop tyres so, I can still use one of the front ones with 6mm left. I have been looking and 275/35/18 seems quite rare. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I had the Vred's on my previous 330i and now also on my 'new' E39 M5. Still think they are fantastic
Undertow - what size Vreds do you have on your M5 and are these on OEM 18" rims? Presume this is an E39 M5 BTW?
I am in the market for All Weather/Winter tyres but cant find anything other than Kumho's that are in the prescribed (summer tyre) sizes 245/40/18 and 275/35/18.
Someone else has used 265's on the rear elsewhere on here, is that what you have too with 254/40/18's up front?. Also, are they the Vred Wintrac model?
I can't get hold of any Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas for my M3 anywhere! It seems no one stocks them at this time of year now the craze for winter tyres has set in, especially not in the staggered fitment need. Am thinking of going for Kumho (shudder) KU39s in the interim as they have good reviews and are well priced. Maybe worth looking at them.

Yes the OEM wheels and I said it's an E39 in my post I am in the market for All Weather/Winter tyres but cant find anything other than Kumho's that are in the prescribed (summer tyre) sizes 245/40/18 and 275/35/18.

Standard sizes 245/40R18 and 275/35R18, these are the summer Ultrac Sessanta's.
I recently bought four Wintrac's in 245/40R18 which will be going on soon. Posts on M5board say they will fit on the rear wheels with basically zero stretch.
I was told I got the last set in that size in the UK....

http://lovetyres.com has the Contis for less than the Hankooks were in the Tesco deal, though the sport contact 2 has been replaced twice now!

Thanks. It looks like a great website.http://www.camskill.co.uk are great on prices IME. I have the ultrac sessantas and love them. Paid £160 a tyre for 275/30/19 which I think's a bit of a bargain!
Michelin are doing 50 quid off a pair of tyres if bought from a participating dealer - that would bring rears down to 241 each. Not as cheap as the Vreddies but at least closer. see http://marketing.michelin.co.uk/buynow/

I went Vred's all round but Camskill wanted closer to £260 each for the 275/35/19's on the back of my touring. I made the mistake of ordering from pneusonline and when the sidewall failed they said they couldnt help as I'd had the tyre a week and it was fitted to the car....I was made to believe the rating was also important. The 96Y rating on the 275/30/19 is below the recommended 100XL, but I'm not an engineer and not sure if the £100 a corner saving is worth it.
Either way, the Vred's are superb and continue to do perform well once they're scubbed, particularly when the roads are greasy like today.
I haven't had my e39 long but after wanting to sort the rear tyres in a hurry http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/ were the cheapest (or close) and they came to the office and fitted F1 Asymmetric 2 tyres the following morning. Excellent service and would be worth it even if they were a little more expensive. Tyres are a massive improvement, however that wouldn't be hard as the previous tyres were 265 instead of 275 and nearly bald.
