Travelling Monday to Cologne via Eurotunnel. Best route and estimated drive time?

i'd go Calais - Lille - Mons - Namur - Liege - Aachen - Köln
about 4 hrs

you can go via Brussels instead, but I prefer not too

Thanks for the info. Sat Nav is telling me E40 all the way?

Thanks for the info. Sat Nav is telling me E40 all the way?
it's only really called the e40 in Belgium, it's the 4 in Germany

The E40 runs from Calais to...the Chinese border!

The E40 is one of - if not the - longest routes in the world.

E-routes are amalgams of motorways used to cross national borders whilst reading the same road sign. They're a Good Thing

We actually have them in the UK too however they're not included on signage. For example, if you get in your car in Inverness and punch in E15, it'll take you to...Malaga!

I know that, but I wouldn't count on seeing 'E40' on all the signs in Germany, it would say '4', whereas in Belgium the 'E' numbers are much more prominent
