My best Friend is getting married in Cesars Palace at the end of September next year. A large party of us are going over for a week (50+) him and his future Mrs are getting flight and hotel prices for us all to go over.

He is doing this through normal travel agents and being dealt with by their group teams.

I would have thought they would be climbing all over each other to get this business and giving massive discounts but this isnt what he is finding.
He can get pretty much the same price doing it as individuals.

The wedding is booked for Cesars but they would rather stay somewhere a little nicer and have been looking at the Encore or Wynn.
We are getting prices of around £1075 for hotel and flights per person based on 2 sharing each room.

Are they going about it the wrong way to get a deal?

Has anyone ever done this before or can point us in the right direction.

Has he considered contacting them directly?

I've suggested that he calls the hotel direct and also calls Virgin direct for the flights as the high street travel agents as messing him about.

Ive just found the same package online for only £10 per person more expensive even if only booking 2 people on so he is getting nothing for bringing them £50K of business.

Could try Try Expedia, that's who I booked with (not a large party though).

You could do some reasearch on the Vegas thread on moneysavingsexpert. If there's any info to be had on hotel discounts it will be there.

As a place to stay, try the Bellagio as its next door to Ceasars, so walkable, (still 10 mins walk!)

Here's a guide from MSE. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php...

Tons of other info on this site

This. Call the hotel direct, speak to the reservations manager, and have a good craic/haggle. Don't be paying some middle-man commission..

I work front-of-house in a hotel, BTW

Might also be worth having the same conversation with the hotel next door...just so you can benchmark the best offer/deal and do some playing off!
