Looking for cheap accommodation in Paris!

A friend and I are going to France later this month, and will be spending a day in Paris (Friday 25th). As we arrive Thursday, we are looking for a place to stay for the night.

Anyone here with recommendations? We're looking for something rather basic (read: cheap), preferably not too far away from the city. If would be nice if it has parking facilities, but it's not a deal breaker.

Look for somewhere in Pigalle cheap there but OK - and, shall we say handy for certain sights.

There is a metro there and also underground parking where they play classical music to your cars.

We stayed at the Tim Hotel - you may notice it just to the left of the rather obvious place

I stayed in the Cote d'Ivre area. Was about 50 quid, bit extra for secure underground parking. I personally didn't want to drive into the centre. It wasn't too far on the metro.
Hotel was like a Travel lodge, basic but very clean and comfortable.
