Tamora - crack in body at top corner of boot lid
Discussion
As I thought. It seems like a crack in the gel coat of the fibreglass through either damage or stress. I have seen these on other TVRs but not there. It might not change over time but if due to stress it could just get bigger in which case it's best to get it repaired.
Did you notice it when you bought it? TrackvRoad might know and should be able to recommend a repairer.

I have a small crack just behind the filler cap , interestingly another fine crack shows up on the photo that i have not noticed before . Its very fine and i have not lost sleep over it .
I have wondered if the hood might have been removed and overtightened at some stage .

only noticed today a hairline crack above the number plate , no idea what to do about it .

Ten years ago when looking for an S series i saw quite a few cars with cracks just like the OP , must be a weak point , interested in any advise you get from experts .

Hi all
known at Chim and Griffith,too.
By Tam it is not known to me.
Does your Tam had an accident damage (rear)?
At Griffith, the cracks forming in the corners of the boot lid and into the corners of the right and left tail lights ...
One thing is clear! -> You> had to fix it quickly.
otherwise it quickly ... even worse on how hard your driving ... haha
I know already, is not cheap to repair,

Cracks like the OP`s are normally the result of bad workmanship . On the griffs and chimps there is a join in the mould there which will probably have been bodged with filler at the factory . They put filler into the repair quite often still leaving some air in and that is the result . On the plus side it is not likely to get worse . David

I couldn't find anything already written about this.
I noticed a crack in the bodywork where it meets the boot lid in the top drivers-side corner. It isn't repeated on the driver's side.
It doesn't look like much. Has anybody else noticed this on a Tamora?

Hi Gavin, Dont worry, i bought my Tam in 2007 with 5,800 mls on the clock, and after getting it home noticed the same sort of cracks as you have, but on both sides of the boot, now with 44,000 mls and several track days, and some spirited driving on Drive Espania trips to Spain, they are exactly the same, nothing to worry about, just enjoy your Tam they're great cars.I noticed a crack in the bodywork where it meets the boot lid in the top drivers-side corner. Thanks for all the informed responses - it looks like I don't have much to worry about.

That's good to know. They are very minor, and if they are unlikely to get any worse, then I don't mind such tiny cosmetic imperfections. Also nice to see a Tam getting some miles and trackdays. Our plan is 5000 miles / year including one European trip and one trackday per year

if you want to include a T/D with a trip to Spain then take a look at Drive Espania's web site, brilliant trips.Gassing Station | Tamora, T350 & Sagaris | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
